Renovation properties in Marbella’s historic quarter
For some years now the main focus has been on modern properties in Marbella and also internationally. Many of the new or retro-modern inspired villas and apartment complexes are beautiful and have added a refreshing touch to our urban landscape, but in some quarters people are already becoming oversaturated with the stark white, right-angled minimalism of some contemporary homes. One thing that never went out of fashion is a stylish classical property in a delightfully charming and chic historic city centre. Just look at the popularity of such properties in places like London, Paris, New York, Vienna, Madrid, Barcelona and also closer to home in Málaga, where such classic city centre apartments – either renovated or offering the potential for restoration – are in hot demand. The same applies to Marbella, whose historic town centre is quaint and charming, largely car-free and within walking distance of the main shopping streets, restaurants, café society and of course fantastic beaches.
The Casco Antiguo is a gorgeous amalgam of charming boutiques and stores, restaurants, tapas bars, corner shops and antiquaries distributed along delightful cobbled streets and rustic squares. It’s an area full of life but not hectic thanks to the lack of traffic. Puerto Banús, golf and all the other facilities are a few minutes away and it offers elegance, tranquillity and a uniquely Spanish atmosphere within Marbella.
